Ganga Jamuna Trek

Ganga Jamuna trek is short and moderate trekking in Dhading , its means attraction of this trek is the twin waterfalls Ganga and Jamuna and local people and real reality of Nepal and Nepalese culture and ethnic people . It is located in north- west region of Kathmandu from where Panorama view Langtang range, Ganesh Himal, Shringi Himal, Manaslu range, Lamjung Himal, Himchuli, Annapurna range and many other unnamed mountains and peaks is remarkable.

The trail passes through settlements of various ethnic groups of Nepal including Newar, Gurung, Tamang,Brahmin and Chettri. The forests surrounding these settlements are intact with beautiful flora and fauna such as rhododendrons and pine trees.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Full day Kathmandu Valley City Tour.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhading Besi  and trek from Dhading Besi to Jyamrung Danda.

Day 04: Trek from Jyamrung Danda to Kari Gaon (1225 m.)

Day 05: Trek from Karki Gaon to Ganga Jamuna (3244m.)

Day 06: Rest day at Ganga Jamuna.

Day 07: Trek from Ganga Jamuna to Budathum (850m.)

Day 08: Trek from Budathum to Arughat Bazaar (500m.)  On the same day you drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 09: Departure home.

Day 09: Departure home.

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival:

Arrive in Kathmandu airport where you will be welcomed by the representative from Himalayan Adventure Treks & Tours.

 Day 02Kathmandu Valley City Tour:

After breakfast, we start for Kathmandu city tour which includes the four of the UNESCO heritage site in the valley.

Pashupatinath: The temple is one of the most sacred pilgrims’ sites for the Hindus all over the world. It is the temple of Lord Shiva, the temple where the dead bodies are criminated on the bank of Bagmati River.

 Boudhanath Stupa: which is one of the biggest stupas in Asia and holiest Budisht Pilgrims and famous tourist destination in Valley.It is also famous for over 50 Tibetan gompas or monasteries.

Kathmandu Durbar Square: It holds the places of the ancient king who ruled over the then Kathmandu Kingdom.

Swayambhunath(Monkey Temple): It is located in the heart of the valley. it is another famous tourist destination and holiest Buddhist pilgrims. it is also known as Monkey temple among tourist.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhading Besi  and trek from Dhading Besi to Jyamrung Danda.

Trek from Dhading Besi to Jyamrung Danda (1100m.) takes about three hours. While trekking uphill you pass through villages, hills and terraces. Jyamrung Danda is an excellent view point from where you can enjoy the panoramic views of Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Shringi Himal, Manaslu Himal and many other snow capped mountains and peaks.

Day 04Trek from Jyamrung Danda to Kaki Gaon (1225 m.)

After descending for nearly two hours you cross a suspension bridge over the Ankhu Khola (Ankhu river). You then trek over flat leveled trails at the bank of Ankhu Khola river until you reach Ringne. This is a small town with a few shops. From here, your trail gradually moves up all the way to Kari Gaon. This is a big village mainly inhabited by Hindus. The main occupation of villagers is agriculture.

Day 05: Trek from Kari Gaon to Ganga Jamuna (3244m.)

En route, you pass beautiful forests, ridges, farming terraces and picturesque villages. The main attractions include interactions with ethnic groups such as Gurung, Brahmin, Chhetri and a few others. Ganga Jamuna is a Hindu pilgrimage site where a famous fair is held around the temple three days before the full moon, during the first week of November. This place is perfect for camping. The panoramic views of Langtang range, Ganesh Himal, Shringi Himal, Manaslu range, Lamjung Himal, Himchuli, Annapurna range and many other unnamed mountains and peaks completely mesmerize you.

Day 06: Rest day at Ganga Jamuna.

This day you can hike to the top of Ganga Jamuna and can enjoy the spectacular views of the Langtang range, Ganesh Himal, Shringi Himal, Manaslu range, Lamjung Himal, Himalchuli, Annapurna range and many other unnamed mountains and peaks. Along the way you cross dense forests of rhododendron and other natural vegetation.

Day 07: Trek from Ganga Jamuna to Budathum (850m.)

Some part of the trail goes downhill and then it moves along a leveled path before descending again towards the ending of your trek. Along your journey, you can enjoy fascinating green hills, beautiful waterfalls, small rhododendron and pine forests, picturesque villages rich in their own traditions and farming terraces. Budathum is a small town with an old local market. This village is predominately inhabited by the Newar community. From here you can enjoy the spectacular views of Manaslu range at a far distance.

Day 08: Trek from Budathum to Arughat Bazaar (500m.)  On the same day you drive back to Kathmandu.

Aarughat Bazzar covers a small area with an old market. Here, the route to Manaslu trekking meets. You board your vehicle at Arughat Bazaar to reach Kathmandu. This is a picturesque journey. While driving, you head up to Dhading Besi and Malekhu and Malekhu, which is famous for delicious fish. En route, you can enjoy the mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields and people being engaged in their daily life activities. From Naubishe you climb up to Thankot, the gateway to the capital city.

Day 09:Departure Day:

On the final day, drive to the airport to catch the international flight. In case if you have the late flight you can do last minute shopping souvenirs to your friends and family before you fly back to home.
